[We all have blind spots, these are located where the retina and the optic nerve meet.]
[During this time small pieces of paper are distributed among the attendees and we demonstrate how to find your blind spot.]
{Is it possible that we too suffer areas in our lives that are spiritual “blind spots”?]
[Let us see the story about some men that were unable to see what God did for them.]
Leer Lucas 17:11-19 [Read Luke 17:11-19]
More about that in a moment, but as a background for all of this, consider the account of Jesus healing men who had leprosy. Jesus healed all 10, the gospel story tells us, but it never occurred to nine of them to praise God or thank Jesus. The 10th leper, however, whom Jesus noted was the only foreigner in the group, did both of those things, and the reason was that he “saw” what the other nine missed.

The ability to see is an important part of this story. Luke reports that Jesus was moved to heal all 10 after he saw them, which suggests something more than physical sight. Jesus’ vision enabled him not only to be aware of their presence, but also to grasp their predicament and to empathize with their agony to the point that he acted to help them.

When Luke next uses the word “saw,” he’s talking about the single man who, observing that his illness had disappeared, turned back and praised God in a loud voice and then prostrated himself before Jesus in deep thankfulness. Certainly the other nine also noticed that their diseased skin was healed, but they failed to see that praise belonged to God and that thanks belonged to Jesus because of it.

To the measure that we praise and give thanks to God is in directly proportional to being able to “see” God his grace in our lives.

Whoever has the vision of Christ…Turns back.
a. Arrepentimiento…cambio de mente / Repentance…change of mind
b. Bible texts…
c. Buscar de Dios, la perla de gran precio, cuando uno tiene un verdadero encuentro, el valor de todas las demas cosas palidece en comparación / Remember the pearl of great price, when there’s a true encounter with Jesus, everthing else pales in comparison.
d. Iranically it was a Smaritan who “saw” and turned back, of all people.
Whoever has the vision of Christ...Gives Praise!
a. PS 100 1 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.2 Worship the LORD with gladness;
 come before him with joyful songs.3 Know that the LORD is God.
 It is he who made us, and we are his;we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
 and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
 his faithfulness continues through all generations
b. 1 [a] Cantad alegres a Dios,habitantes de toda la tierra. 2 Servid a Jehová con alegría;
venid ante su presencia con regocijo. 3 Reconoced que Jehová es Dios;
c. Quizás nosotrosno vemos “razones para alabar” por eso estamos en los cultos fríos y sin adorar, porque no hay experiencia nueva en nuestra vida / Maybe that’s why we’re so cold during worship, maybe we can’t “see” a new experience.
d. Quizás necesitamos que el Señor nos restaure la vista para poder tener “razones” para adorar / Maybe we need the Lord to restore our sight so we can “see” reasons to worship.
e. Leer Apoc. 3:15-19 We cannot be lukewarm in our experience, we think we’re OK but the Lord must reveal our need so we can humble ourselves and recognize the need for the supreme healer! Rev. 3 says 15I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. 19Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent.
Whoever has the vision of Christ...Gives thanks
a. Jim Carrey’s testimony: he reports that he is in the habit of making lists of things that he’s grateful for. In words you don’t expect from an A-list Hollywood actor, he says, “I would challenge anybody in their darkest moment to write what they’re grateful for, even stupid little things like the green grass that made them feel good, the friendly conversation they had with somebody on an elevator. You start to realize how rich you are.”

Count your blessings. Remember to be grateful. Realize how rich you are. Take the time, especially at Thanksgiving, to give thanks for everything you have been given. Jim Carrey does it.

And so does Leper No. 10.

b. Ill: pastor, missionary trip Tobago, a hideous Leper woman (missing nose, ears, fingers) requests “Count your many blessings”

Let us pray that the Lord will give us sight in those areas that we don’t see His glory so that we can freely thank him and worship him.

Very spiritual. We should be able to be more thankful to God's grace in our lives.
