We live in a busy society. No time to cover all the basic needs of your personal life. Little time to stop and re-evaluate your life. What is worse, no time to stop and help anyone. There are many ways that you can help someone without costing you money or too much time. Best way you can really help someone is by evangelizing.

Why do we need to get HBO?

What does the word evangelism mean?  Evangelism is a theological word which means "to preach the gospel message". The gospel message is that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, the Son of Man, the Lord of the Sabbath, God come in the flesh, Savior, King, Lord, and that He came to give His life for mankind so that whosoever puts their trust in Him will have eternal life. Evangelism is preaching that message to people so that they will come to know Jesus and be saved from the sin that separates them from God.  This responsibility is given to Christians, those who are followers of Jesus Christ.

However let’s look at the reasons why we need to evangelize and reach out from three different angles:

God, yourself, and them (them being those who you reach out to)

1.      God – He said to do it ever so clearly.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

2.      Yourself – If you don’t do it, you are in fact disobeying God and looking for your own salvation will be worthless. It is our responsibility to teach them or who else will do it? Share the same gift that was given to you when you were invited.

How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, "HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!"

3.      Them – Life is not long, Eternity is. Knowing this, I would rather spend eternity in the hands of the Lord.

“He, who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death.”

When thinking about the second death we know they mean the spiritual death. This one is the one that matters. As we die our first and physical death, we suffer briefly, and then we move on to live an eternity. Depending on how your life was on earth will affect your second life. The second death is everlasting and painful. The biggest problem is that non-believers do not realize how much it will cost them and how much suffering is really involved.

It comes to mind the one time that I got burned as a child with an iron. My mother put a band aid on me and some cortisone. I had a terrible night. The second night was bothersome, and the next few days it was a little sensitive to the touch. Eventually, the pain went away, and I completely forgot about it. I was ironing again in no time.

We play with sins over and over again because we do not feel its consequences NOW. But when the time comes to face its consequences, the pain will not last only one night, and it will not be bothersome. It will be everlasting and no cortisone is available.

If we don’t evangelize to our brothers, we let them be victims of their own demise. It is important for them to know what they are gambling with. They just don’t realize it.

The more people we evangelize to, the better the chances that someone will come.

If I apply to one job that pays really good and let the rest pass me by, what are my chances to get hired? The more you apply, the more the chances that someone will call you back. Do not Give Up!!!

We, Christians, have the responsibility to preach, evangelize, outreach, and spread the Word of God. We have to do it all the time. Because the second we hold back, we loose grip on those souls and they will go away. Every soul we let go of, or let us pass us by, is one more soul that we failed to save.
