God Gives the Growth

This was my final sermon at Fulton First Christian Church before retiring from pastoral ministry in the local church. It is mainly a collection of stories of embarrassing, humbling experiences in ministry. Yet God has worked through this ministry in spite of my mess-ups. Sometimes I planted, sometimes I watered where others have sown. God has given the growth.

Hope

The biblical prophetic word looks at the present reality with realism, looking through this reality with hope. Beginning with Jeremiah as an example of this, this message seeks to look at the current situation in Ferguson, Missouri, with this same kind of authentic realism and our biblical hope.

Giving Thanks

This Thanksgiving sermon considers Jesus' healing of ten lepers with only one returning to give thanks. Jesus said to that one, "Your faith has made you well," although all were physically cleansed. We can be physically well and still need healing spiritually and emotionally. What are some of the ways a thankful heart makes us whole?

Moving Beyond Halfway

This sermon addresses the fear that can push us back when God is calling us forward. It is built around Israel's Exodus experience and hears with them the call of God to "get moving."

Encouraging One Another

This is a call to be there for one another, caring and encouraging. We closed the message with the honoring of our Stephen Ministry team, have committed time to grow in ministry skills and understanding, and who are examples of the message of this sermon.
