The Blessings of Blindness
As we open our Scriptures to John 9, we find one of the most beautiful stories in all of the Scriptures. This miracle is the fourth record of Jesus healing blindness in the Scriptures. It is obvious that he healed more than four, but only four are recorded. We know that healing the blind was a fulfillment of prophecy: To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. Isaiah 42:7 (KJV)

Losing Someone You Love
...I have talked to parents who have lost their children and they say there is no greater grief, because you’re not supposed to bury your children. They are supposed to bury you.

Who is Your Father?
As we open again to the gospel of John, chapter 8, we see the pride that the Jewish people had in their ancestry. When confronted about their sin and need for a Savior, they continually fell back on the idea that they were “children of Abraham.” The confrontation we find between Jesus and the unbelieving Jewish religious leaders reached this point of hostility back in John 5, when Jesus had the audacity to heal a lame man, crippled for 38 years, on the Sabbath.

The Pathway to Freedom
As Christians, we don’t believe truth is relative. Neither do we believe truth is a set of facts or principles. We don’t believe it’s an abstract idea. No, we believe truth is more than facts, more than principles. Truth is a personified in the very character of God: He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. Deuteronomy 32:4 (KJV)

Put Worry in the Rearview Mirror
Our typical approach to worry is this: 1) Either we worry a lot and tell a lot of people that this is our one issue. People tell us to stop worrying, but we try hard to stop worrying, but we end up worrying about worrying. 2) Or we have the “don’t worry be happy” mentality and we go the other extreme. We don’t act responsibly. We aren’t sensitive to sin. And we kind of live the laissez faire lifestyle.

Return to the Cross
The Bible is God’s written revelation to man. It is the Scriptures. And if this is true, it is life and death. For those who dabble but don’t believe, Jesus won’t be here forever. There will be a day when it’s too late. When you’re face to face with Jesus and instead of beholding Him as your Savior, you’ll be looking into the eyes of your Judge. And you won’t be able to go where Jesus is.

Flexibility is Faith
Flexibility is one of the most important attributes of faith.---Well, tonight we’re talking about one of the most important, but often overlooked attributes of the Christian faith. You don’t hear a lot of sermons on it. You don’t hear people speak of it as a great Christian virtue. But flexibility—the ability to adjust your life and your plans—to people and circumstances—is an important trait. But it’s also the most difficult to cultivate, because it involves giving up a lot of ourselves and serving others.

Are You Following the Light-Part Two
Nobody likes stumbling lost in the darkness. And yet that is where the nation of Israel was when Jesus boldly declared himself to be the Light of the World in John 8:12-20. But Jesus wasn’t just declaring the nation as a whole to be in darkness. He was declaring the entire world to be in darkness. The truth is that today most people live in darkness. They live life confused and afraid and don’t really know where to turn. They stumble around and have no idea where they are going. Our world is just filled with a darkness and oppression that is so thick. But Jesus Christ offers himself as the Light of the World.

Are You Following the Light-Part One
Revival begins with a personal self-examination. Revival means you and I fall on our knees and embrace God and ask him to call us to obedience to Him. So it is with this spirit, we look afresh at the passage of Scripture before us. A powerful passage that begins with a fresh statement of who Jesus is.

The Monster Inside - Saying No To Yourself
Let me read a letter from a prisoner...Can you guess who wrote it? Would you believe these are the words of perhaps the greatest Christian ever to live? The words of the Apostle Paul?
