What this Means for You and For Me

 

1)    Jesus is not the warm and fuzzy God we worship today.

a.     He is both Lion and Lamb.

b.     He is love and light. Grace and Truth.

c.     Jesus wasn’t wimpy.

2)    There is a Place for Anger

                                                             i.      Jesus was under control.

                                                           ii.      He directed his anger at the sin, not the sinner.

                                                        iii.      He was God and therefore had the authority.

a.     When it results in "quick tempered" behavior

b.     When it hurts people physically.

c.     When it persists and results in bitterness.

d.     When we hurt people emotionally and spiritually.

e.     When we become vengeful.

3)    Jesus Cares About Our Worship

a.     Modern Technology Isn’t Wrong

b.     Selling things in the Temple was okay

c.     But the primary goal of our church should never be:

                                                             i.      Money

                                                           ii.      Finances

                                                        iii.      Growth

d.     We are Now the Temple of the Holy Ghost (1 Corinthians 6:19 (KJV)

e.     When Jesus enters your life, He removes things that cloud Worship of the Father

                                                             i.      He makes you uncomfortable

                                                           ii.      Areas not surrendered.

                                                        iii.      Things that bring shame

f.       Your physical body is a temple:

g.     Jesus is concerned with the condition of our own hearts.

4)    Don’t Seek Miracles, Seek a More Robust Faith

a.     They wanted a sign. Jesus was the sign

b.     Will you only serve God for what He can give you?

c.       Serve Him for What He has Done
