1)      The Origin of the Light

2)      The Revelation of the Light.

a.       Sin came into the world and brought darkness and death. But Jesus Christ is the light that pierced the darkness.

b.      The darkness did not ________the light.

d.      John’s Purpose: That All Men Thru Him Might Believe

e.       Acts 19:4: John’s message of repentance = believe

f.        Repent: metanoi = to change one’s mind

3)      The Rejection of the Light

a.       John 1:11 Christ was rejected by the world He created

b.      John 1:12 Christ was rejected by the people He had called

4)      The Acceptance of the Light

a.       What does it take to be a Christian? Receive Jesus Christ

b.      Those who receive Him are given “the right or authority” to become sons of God.

c.       Salvation doesn’t come by birth or by man’s hard work or ingenuity, but of God.
