Who is Your Father?

As we open again to the gospel of John, chapter 8, we see the pride that the Jewish people had in their ancestry.
When confronted about their sin and need for a Savior, they continually fell back on the idea that they were “children of Abraham.”
The confrontation we find between Jesus and the unbelieving Jewish religious leaders reached this point of hostility back in John 5, when Jesus had the audacity to heal a lame man, crippled for 38 years, on the Sabbath.
