The Nature of the Church
I want to be very clear this morning as I show you from this text five characteristics of the church of the Lord Jesus Christ. 1. The church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a multi-ethnic congregation. 2. The church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a redeemed congregation. 3. The church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a worshipping congregation. 4. The church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a persecuted congregation. 5. The church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a protected congregation.

Biblical Repentance 10 - All of Grace and All for the Glory of God
My purpose in preaching this passage is to show you and remind you that redemption is an act of God by the grace of God and for the glory of God. Redeemed humans will receive the blessings of God in salvation but we will receive none of the glory. We are recipients of God’s grace and in that we will bring God glory but we will be forever in awe of the glory of God in eternity. So we might as well grow accustomed to that right now.

Biblical Repentance 9 - The Outworking of Sanctification
This morning from Psalm 51:13-15 I want you to see two deeds or fruits that are proof of repentance and ongoing sanctification. 1. The proof of repentance and ongoing sanctification is marked out by a life of continual study and evangelism. 2. The proof of repentance and ongoing sanctification is marked out by a life of continual praise.

Biblical Repentance 8 - The Miracle Needed for Sanctification 2
The reason I am preaching this passage this morning is two fold. I want to press on you the understanding that sanctification will always follow justification. Second, I want all of us to have a firm understanding that we are never left to ourselves to sanctify ourselves. We must rely completely on God and allow Him through the work of the Holy Spirit to lead us into more and more holiness not so that we can look at ourselves but rather so He can use us as He sees fit. Sanctification will never please the flesh. Sanctification will never make you comfortable. Becoming like Christ who learned obedience through what He suffered will often leave us scratching our heads and wondering what the Lord is doing. But what He is doing is making us holy.

Biblical Repentance 7 - The Miracle Needed for Sanctification
In Psalm 51:10-12 David gives six actions that the Lord must accomplish for our sanctification. I will not try to cover all six today but will attempt to cover the first two from verse 10. Let me give these two actions that the Lord must accomplish for our sanctification from verse 10. 1. The Lord must give us a heart transplant. 2. The Lord must give us a renewed spirit. The reason I am going to camp out here for a while is because of the great misunderstanding in our day regarding salvation and sanctification. There are those who believe that one can be saved and never have any evidence of sanctification at all.

Biblical Repentance 6 - The Relief Only God Can Bring
Today again we have no recording of the message but do have the text posted. From Psalm 51:8 and 9 I want you to see two spiritual states that only God can bring about in His sovereign grace. 1. Only God can bring about true sorrow for sin. 2. Only God can bring about joy in true forgiveness of sin.

Biblical Repentance 5 - Understanding the depths of our sin
So this morning from our text, Psalm 51:5-6, I want you to see two foundational doctrines that must be understood for true biblical repentance to occur. 1. We must understand our utter inability to save ourselves. 2. We must understand that outward obedience is not enough to save us.

Biblical Repentance 4 - A Keen Awareness of Our Sinfulness
My purpose in preaching this passage is to show you that we should be constantly aware of our sin and our need for God to show us our sin. Plus I want you to understand that David’s reaction is the proper reaction when we are shattered by the breaking of the Law of God. From our Psalm 51:4 I want you to see that there are two understandings that come when God is so gracious to reveal to us our sinfulness. 1. We understand the insidious nature of sin. 2. We understand the righteousness of God in the punishment for sin.

Biblical Repentance 3 - The Need for Cleansing
So from Psalm 51:2 I want you to see two spiritual actions that are needed in order to be forgiven that only God can accomplish. 1. In biblical repentance we plead for God to wash us. 2. In biblical repentance we plead for God to cleanse us.
