Jesus, Our King

As we examine the subject of Jesus being King there must be a distinction made between his Sovereign Rule, as creator God and his Redemptive Rule, as Messiah. In this message we examine the latter. Jesus, Our Priest

Before the fall of humanity into sin, man had unhindered access to God. But after the fall, the only way to have access to God was though the death of a sacrifice; thus there was a need for a mediator. Ruth 4 - The Moment We Have Been Waiting For

We come to the final scene in Ruth and are eager to see what unfolds. With the shrewd and sacrificial dealings of Boaz, the moment we have been waiting for arrives: Boaz, the redeemer, marries Ruth, the redeemed. And together they have a son who is the Grandfather of Israel's greatest King, David. David, then, would have a greater son to sit on his throne forever, King Jesus. We learn from this scene that God's providence is purposeful and that he is the ultimate redeemer and provider for his people.
