Sermon Cloud

The long awaited arrival of the King was inauspicious, but the venerable Simeon was led by the Spirit to recognize the baby Jesus as the promised Messiah who would bring salvation to all people. As the light of revelation to the Gentiles, Jesus brought hope to people who were outside the covenant, while fulfilling the promise made to those who were part of the covenant. In so doing, he has shown himself to be the only hope of a world darkened by sin.
