This passage appears to be about healing another blind guy. While we believe that did happen and that is incredible, we believe that Jesus is teaching us so much more. Jesus is teaching us about what true faith should look like. He is teaching us how a disciple should respond in faith. A follow of Christ should respond to Jesus just like blind Bart, which was to follow Jesus with a rejoicing and joyful heart that is a witness to all who see him. That’s the evidence of true faith. That’s the external demonstration of the internal transformation that comes to someone who meets Jesus. He follows with Jesus with a worship filled heart; a heart that knows the mercy that he has been shown. That is a person who follows Jesus because he loves Jesus with ALL of his heart, ALL of his soul, ALL of his mind, and ALL of his strength.
