Sermon Cloud

Mark 11 represents another transition for the Gospel of Mark. Jesus and the disciples have come to Jerusalem. We have had demonstrating (Chapter 1 through Chapter 8:21) and clarifying (Chapter 8:22 through Chapter 10) and now we have proving. Throughout the remainder of the gospel, we are going to see that Jesus is proving and get a lot more explicit that he is the Christ the Son of God. The first thing he does is to declare that he is the King; that he is the messiah. He declares that through his triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The crowd understood the statement that Jesus was making but then they just went away. The question that we have to ask ourselves is whether we treat Jesus the same way. Do we acknowledge Jesus as King or as our BFF for the moment?
