I don’t think it is an overstatement to declare that the aim of all of history is for the people of God to marvel at the majesty of Jesus Christ. So that’s my aim this Easter Sunday morning—that you will marvel at what is revealed of Christ. However, to truly marvel at the majesty of Jesus Christ you must understand what is revealed of Christ. As I have been studying this week, I have been convicted by this very idea. Just think about how you have lived your life this last week, month, since last Easter… have you lived in awe of the fact that we are living between two Easters; between the resurrection of our Redeemer, Jesus Christ, which made possible our own spiritual resurrection and the resurrection of the redeemed? How much have you marveled at the reality that you have been saved from eternal punishment?
