Taste and See that the Lord is Good

Isaiah 55:1-9

Renewal, Awakening, Restoration, Revival!!!

On Sunday we explored God’s Word - His call for repentance from sin and His promised hope of restoration, as shared by Bro. Walter Rochester (Snr.)

2 Chronicles 7:14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

We look forward to a day when the normal landscape of the nation of Trinidad and Tobago is dramatically transformed.

Friends, there’s a need for intervention in our nation. When believers are driven to prayer, great things will happen.

Bro. Rochester referred to an old riddle - If seven birds are perched on a tree branch and three decide to fly away, how many are left?

The answer is seven. Why? Three “decided” to fly away. Deciding is not enough. A great decision is ineffective unless it is carried out.

Let’s make a decision AND carry out the following steps for spiritual revival based on 2 Chronicles 7:14.

  1. Prayer

Like Daniel in Daniel 9, we can acknowledge that ‘WE have sinned’. We are encouraged to humble ourselves and pray to God, as representatives of our nation.

  1. Forsake Sin

We are to choose to turn from our wicked ways, repenting of our sin.

  1. Recognize that our God is Real

God and His Word must be real to us. His Word promises that when we seek Him, he will hear us, forgive our sin and heal our land.

If Christianity means anything to you, it should be everything to you. Go all out. God is calling us all to get involved.

As we apply God’s Word to our lives and focus on His plan for the restoration of people’s lives, we will experience God’s blessings and acknowledge (taste and see) that God is good.
