I'll Be Happy When... I've Done Enough

According to the ancient Catechism the purpose of life is to "glorify God and enjoy Him forever". One modern pastor has made a slight modification for clarity - we are to glorify God by enjoying Him forever. If both of these sources are on to something, it means that our relationship with God is to be marked by joy. God is most honored, praised and worshipped when we are filled with joy in Him. But, if we are honest, our spiritual lives are often marked by exhaustion, guilt and the nagging sense that we're not doing enough. Why? Where have we gone wrong? This section of Philippians is meant to set us free from guilt-inducing, burden-producing spirituality into the joy of a God who delights in us out of sheer grace and underserved love.
