The Source of Paul's Power and Passion

What kept Paul going? What was the source of his power and passion? What did he mean when h said he didn't want to know anything but "Jesus Christ and Him crucified?" What occupies our thoughts? What can we claim as the source of our power and passion? We apologize that the very end of the message stopped recording, but there is still so much to gain.

Acts 16:6-10, Responding When God Frustrates Our Plans

How do we respond when God Himself blocks and frustrates our plans? When He closes a door on our hopes, dreams and desires? When out of His Sovereign love He redirects or protects us --- even from those things we desire to do for His glory? How do we seek and determine His Will for our lives in the midst of such confusion and disappointment? The answer to these questions often says more about us then it does about God.

Acts 15:36-16:3a, Ministry Disagreements

We've see when its right to defend and fight for the truth of the Gospel and God's Word (both orthodoxy and orthopraxy). But there are times when we have ministry disagreements. AND although we;re still responsible on how we conduct ourselves, God often can override our ministry disagreements for his own glory and our highest good, just like between Paul and Barnabas.

Acts 15:1-35, When It's Right To Fight For Truth & God's People

When Are Truth and God's People Worth Fighting For? (Acts 15:1-35) Full audio message available at www.HeartCry.church There are times when Truth must be defended and Error refuted. This week we see the first of seven of the great church counsels attempting to do just that. Sadly, most errors don't go away, they simply recirculate under different names and teachers. Sadly, even Peter and Barnabas had to be corrected from their momentary drift --- truth and souls were at stake. Scripture in multiple places warns and affirms that we are not to add to or delete from God's Holy Word. And yet, Biblical Orthodoxy, Orthopraxy, the Inspiration, Inerrancy, Authority, Sufficiency and Perspicuity of Scripture has never been more under attack than it is today. Everything from "Redefining Marriage," Legitimizing Sin," "Contemplative Spirituality," "Hyper-Charismania," Hyper-Calvinism," "Radical Evangelical Feminism," the Corruption of proper "Exegesis Hermeneutics", and even denying the full counsel of God's Word outright. The Jerusalem Counsel spoke with authority. Who speaks with the same authority today? Every street corner has a different church with a difference flavor for differing tastes. More than ever we need to be Berean’s and test the Scriptures. Are we saturated in Scripture enough even to recognize error when we hear it? Are we more influenced by the World and Culture --- or by God's Word?

Acts 14:23-15:3, Christ's Love For HIs Church & Truth Worth Fighting For

While Adam was sleeping, God opened his side and created him bride, Eve. When Jesus was on the Cross, God opened His side and created a bride for Christ, the church. Jesus loves His Bride, the church, so much that He died for it, sent the Holy Spirit, called us each to be part of the Universal, Spiritual church, and then places us in a local congregation for mutual encouragement and accountability. He also loves us enough to raise up shepherds to feed us, care for us, protect us and to equip us for our own ministry. As our text points out, occasionally, there are those that come along who introduce error or place the sheep at risk. Paul and Barnabas, being the loving, dedicated shepherds that they were, rose to the occasion to defend their flock --- and to defend the truth. They show us that there are things worth fighting for and things worth simply letting go. The key is knowing the difference. Biblical Orthodoxy and Orthopraxy are never something to compromise. The truth of the Gospel and the truth found in God's Word are worth fighting for --- no matter what the cost.
