Working with God’s Power

Paul’s letter to Colossians presents his case that the message of Christ should be one that all can receive through faith. It is not for a select few with higher knowledge any more that it is simply common knowledge. He also prepares to contend for the truth if the Gospel in the face of opposition. He does this by presenting the metaphor of an athlete preparing to enter the arena and then striving with all that he has, working together with God’s power. It’s in this partnership of Paul’s suffering, working and striving together with God that he sees the Gospel preached, men warned, and the church taught.

Withering is a sign of decay, of dryness and shriveling, of BARRENNESS. When a Christian is barren, they are not producing what they were created and designed to do. They are not fulfilling their intended purpose. The Scripture warns us about the consequences of unfruitfulness. As believers we must avoid barrenness and stay fruitful. This message presents 7 signs of unfruitfulness to watch out for.
