Think A Whole New Way

Part 5: Think A Whole New Way Walking the path of healing to wholeness involves daily commitment. Taking a part of each day for quiet time with God, learning how to relax in his grace, seeking knowledge that will help you think a whole new way, studying God's Word, celebrating even the little victories, and being ready to do continual battle with the enemy who wants to keep you down—all are parts of the process to healing, to walking free of crippling addictions and free from bitterness and unresolved guilt and relational conflict. God will keep working in you as long as you are willing to walk humbly with him and access his power—one step at a time and one day at a time.

Amend My Relationships

Part 4: Amend My Relationships Taking the necessary steps to move out of the bondage of bitterness from past hurts and into the freedom of forgiveness may be difficult and very painful at times, but forgiving those who have hurt you and seeking forgiveness from those you've hurt is a necessary part of the healing process. God requires you to forgive and he is going to help you do it. It's making a hard choice even if you don't feel like it—remembering that you'll never have to forgive somebody more than what God has forgiven you. Forgiving helps heal your damaged emotions and leaves you with a heart ruled by the peace of God.

Examine Yourself

Part 3: Examine Myself with Fearless Honesty The third step in the series "Coming Up to Breathe" involves doing a little self-exploratory surgery, a little self-examination, with God and a trusted friend or counselor at your side. What are your faults? Do you feel genuine sorrow and regret for your past actions that have caused hurt to others? God, who already knows the truth about you and wants to heal you anyway, knows the importance of you getting out the honest truth about yourself and of leaning into His grace and power for ongoing healing. There will likely be pain and discomfort involved, but allowing God's light to shine inside you allows you opportunity to be all He intended you to be.

Ready to Surrender

Ready to Surrender Although we think we can self-sufficiently handle anything negative that life throws at us—addictions, infidelities, health issues, life issues in general—self-reliance just doesn't work. If anything, it moves us further away from the one source of strength and grace that can set us free. Humbling yourself to the point of surrender—leaning into the reality of the need for God—does not come easily; but the God who is bigger, better, smarter, and wiser than we can ever be is always there to pick us up however many times we need and to help us along the walk on the road to freedom.

Blessed Are The Broken

Pride, fear, image management—all factors that often comprise the denial of any kind of addiction and denial of the need for help. Most times we won't change until the pain becomes greater than our fear of change, and reality is we can't change without divine intervention. When we humble ourselves and admit our weakness, God's strength then has permission to begin to flow through us and start to transform us from the inside out. He alone has the power to help us walk free. There is power in the admission of powerlessness. This message is the first in a series of teachings on steps toward healing, toward walking free in the grace and strength of God.

Hope

In whom or what are you placing your hope? In parents, relationships, careers, or wealth? Things like these are often the center of our expectations. But, eventually, all these earthly hopes decay. Always. How can we remain hopeful in a world that at times seems hopelessly broken? In this message, Dave Adams explores the Biblical answer to this question.

Listen Up!

Listen and Learn, Part Three - Listen Up! If you’ve been around church people for very long, you’ve heard the statement “God spoke to me and told me to . . .” What do they mean by that? Did he send a text message or leave a voicemail? Does God only speak to certain people and not to others? In the final message in this series, Chris Yaunches explains why it’s sometimes hard for us to hear God’s voice. Listen up! Ezekiel 12:2; Matthew 6:8-10; Psalm 46:10

Listen Here!

Listen and Learn, Part Two - Listen Here! There is no shortage of advisors in this world, but when a myriad of voices come at you, how do you know which ones to listen to and which ones to brush aside? The Bible advises us to “seek wise counsel,” but what does that mean? How do we define “wisdom”? In Part 2,Dave Adams explains the one voice we should always be open to. Listen and learn.

Listen Carefully!

Listen and Learn, Part One - Listen Carefully! What and who you listen to will ultimately influence what you do. You know this is true if you’ve ever listened to bad advice and suffered the consequences. Even worse, have you not listened to good advice and missed the rewards? If you have experienced either of these, you’ll want to listen to Part 1 of Listen and Learn. Brian Rykaczewsi gives a sure-fire way to avoid both scenarios, so listen carefully!
