Good Friday - Paradox in Compassion

Good Friday is one of the most paradoxical holidays on the Christian calendar. But the Bible is full of sharp contrasts that help us to understand the depth of God's love and the extent to which He saved us. Good Friday was, by all earthly standards, a horrible day. . . for Jesus, his followers, and his mother, especially. But what we see and hear from the dying lips of Jesus is nothing short of wonderful, as he makes arrangements for his mother, Mary, to become part of the family of John, the disciple whom Jesus loved.
