Love Forgives
0 Amens
Continuing in our series on love and 1 Corinthians 13, Ken teaches us today some important keys to forgiveness. By learning to eliminate those times when we would normally get angry, we can prevent the need to have to forgive. In those times when anger does get the best of us, Ken shows us how to shorten the span of our anger so that we can forgive and instead live in the gift of love.
Keys to preventing the need to forgive -
1. Even Spock had emotions! Everyone has emotions. When you try to understand you feelings, you gain control over them.
2. Don't be trigger-happy! By identifying the things that trigger your anger, you are less susceptible to those triggers.
3. Manage your anger, or your anger will manage you! Think about what makes you angry while you're in the middle of your anger, so you can identify and correct that thing.
Shortening the span of your anger: what to think about -
1. Imagination powers indignation.
2. We judge others by their actions, but we judge ourselves by our intentions.
3. Hurt people tend to hurt people.
