Overcoming Worry

In the book of Habakkuk, the prophet has questions about the way God is doing things. He cannot understand why God would use a nation more sinful than Israel to punish Israel. So he questions God deeply about it. He also questions God's timing at first, as to why God is not punishing Israel for their sin. Both problems present difficulty to Habakkuk, but he faithfully brings them to God.

In chapter 3, Habakkuk puts to practice the teaching of praising God and choosing to focus on God instead of our problems. The situation never changes, but Habakkuk does. A deep faith in God emerges and we are left with the final moving verses of the chapter and the book.

John MacArthur says that, "Worry cannot survive in an environment of praise to God."
