A God Worth Waiting For
0 Amens
In Nehemiah 11 we see that a number of the Jews left their comfortable homes in the villages to move into the broken and yet holy city of Jerusalem. These people willingly sacrificed the comforts of their former life to move into this broken city because they had a passion for the glory of God. They believed that one day God's glory would return to the city of Jerusalem and they were committed to guarding the city in joyful expectation until that day came. As we look in Scripture at those whose passion for the glory of God moved them to make radical sacrifices, we must ask ourselves a question. Was it worth it? Were the radical sacrifices made by God's people throughout Scripture worth it? Today I want to show you that they were worth it. I want to argue that when we glimpse the glory of God, we see that all of our suffering, as great as it might be, is not worthy to be compared to the beauty of the glory of God revealed in the face of our Savior Jesus Christ.
