    who had repented and obeyed (Hag 1:1-15)

2. Spoken to a Discouraged People  (v3)

    who remembered the “glory days” (Ezra 3:12)

3. Given as a God-centered Command  (vs4-5)

    Be strong, work, and do not be afraid, for the

    Lord of Hosts is with you  (Exodus 19:1ff)

4. Grounded in God’s Promise  (vs6-9)

    The Lord of Hosts will glorify Himself by shaking the

    nations and giving His people peace  (Zech 14:1ff)
