God is in the storm as well as the sunshine…

How do we find Him when we are caught in the storm of affliction?

Through the eyes of His Word we discover …

I.                    THE NATURAL SEQUENCE OF HUMAN LIFE: JOY AND AFFLICTION SUCCEED EAC H OTHER

      Bondage, Deliverance, the Pursuit, The Red Sea, Marah, Elim, Wilderness of Sin, etc.

The Critical Balance:  The Sunshine of Joy is not intended to Corrupt us while the Storm of Affliction is not intended to Crush us…  GOD IS IN CONTROL…

NOTE:  When we are in the furnace, He keeps His eye on us and His Hand on the thermostat.

II.                  THE NECESSITY OF AFFLICTION (Deuteronomy 8:1-2)

·         To HUMBLE us

·         To PROVE us

·         To EXAMINE us

·         To ENABLE us

III.                THE NAME OF GOD – The Lord Who Heals! (Exodus 15:26-27)

·         God heals as we wait,  rest,  trust and pray

·         God teaches  a lesson as well as offers comfort in healing

·         God heals to prepare us for more growth and usefulness – expect more affliction and greater challenges
