God’s Passion: To Be Worshipped Among All Nations
His heartbeat:
1. “I myself will provide for my sheep and look after them.”
2. You will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord, for the display of His splendor.
3. To Pharaoh: (Ex.9:13-16)
“I have raised you up:
a. that I might show you My power and;
b. that My name might be proclaimed in all the earth.
4. To the house of Israel: (Ez.36:16-23)
a. “I had concern for My holy name.”
b. You profaned My name by your disobedience.
c. “I will show Myself holy through you before their eyes.”
d. “Then the nations will know that I am LORD.”
Conclusion:
Missions is the vehicle to bring all nations to the feet of our great God!
Worship is the fuel and goal of missions.
Quote from John Piper:
“Missions isn’t the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exists because worship doesn’t. Worship, therefore, is the fuel and goal of missions. It’s the goal of missions because in missions we simply aim to bring the nations into the white-hot enjoyment of God’s glory.” (Let the Nations be Glad, the Supremacy of God in Missions)
