Just a Regular Dad
2 Amens
Fatherhood is this great thing that we become. With all the joy, promise and potential that it invites, it is also a cause for some of our deepest despair and fear. A feeling of ineptness easily and quickly invades our world. We realize almost instantly that we have become someone that we have no idea how to be. True and lasting successes seem hard to identify and failures seem glaring. How we handle our own thoughts, attitudes and lives has a huge impact on our families future. The most significant and powerful influence in our children's lives has to do with how practically we follow God our Father. As we learn to wrestle, hear and follow Him, we in turn cannot help but treat our families as He treats us. While Jesus was never a father, He certainly showed us a clear example of a father's heart that followed God the Father. ‘...who loved us and gave Himself for us.'
"I'm not afraid of what history will say about me, because I intent to write it."
~Winston Churchill
