Serving Together: Living and Working with a Team

Scripture: Daniel 1,3

The overall aim of this 40 Days o Community series is to answer the question, “What on Earth are We Here For”? The first message introduced the series and called us to understand ‘Why We Need Each Other’, and why we are ‘Better Together’. Last week Pastor Mel taught on ‘What Destroys  Relationships and What Builds Them’. Today we want to look at ‘Serving Together’, The value and strength of working together in teams.

                What are the ingredients of a TEAM?

Trust           - is the glue that holds it all together. 1 Timothy 6:20

Empathy     - You can’t have harmony without sympathy. 1 Peter 3:8

Accommodating

                        - make space for others 2 Timothy 2:22

Mission        - You must have a common goal or cause. Philippians 2:2

                What are some goals of the team?

1.       Help me establish priorities

Matthew 6:33 “But Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness…”

Jeremiah 17:9  “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked.”

2.       Bring accountability into my life

Romans 12:1-2 “Be not conformed to this world.”

3.       Challenge me to serve others

John 13:34-35 “Love one another as I have loved you”

You can’t love others and not serve them to some degree.
