What Destroys Relationships And What Builds them?

Selfishness destroys relationships

It is human nature to be selfish

Selfishness destroys teamwork

EGO stands for Edging God Out

Selflessness builds them

Selflessness brings out the best in others (Philippians 2:4)

God has favorite places to teach selflessness

God rewards selflessness (Galatians 6:7,8)

Pride destroys relationships

Pride leads to arguments (Proverbs 13:10)

Pride is very self-deceiving (Proverbs 16:18)

Humility builds them

Humility helps us live in harmony (1 Peter 3:8)

Humility opens the way for us to change our way of thinking (Ephesians 4:23-24)

Humility gives honor to others (1 Philippians 2:3, 5-6)

Insecurity destroys relationships

The fear of human opinion disables (Proverbs 29:25)

Insecurity prevents intimacy

Love builds them

Perfect love expels all fear (1 John 4:18)

Love brings an honest view of “self” (1 Corinthians 13:4,5)

Resentment destroys relationships

When you get resentful you stop thinking clearly (Psalm 73)

Watch out that no resentment takes root (Hebrews 12:15)

Forgiveness builds them

Forgiveness is letting go of the past and letting go of my right to get even.
