Raising Whole Children
We need the parental ability to Building a strong sens of self-esteem in our children; develop a sense of personal competence in our children; teach our children relational skills and to lay a spiritual foundation for children to build their lives on. In Deuteronomy 6:5-7 we are given this instruction: " Love the Lord your God will all your heart .....These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts: Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."

The Personal Dimension of Parenting
According to Ephesians 6:4 as parents we are told to not exasperate our children but to bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. We must first order our personal world as parents so that we will not exasperate our children. To do that we must: make Christ the priority of our life; pursue consistent integrity; process our personal baggage and confront pride - be a student of parenting. Spiritually and emotionally healthy lives pave the way to healthy families.

Parenting is Serious Business
As parents we need to know what the target is -- our objective should be to raise kids who are a bright reflection of Jesus by giving our kids a strong moral, relational, and spiritual foundation to carry them through life. We need to treat our children like God treats us To Be Like My Heavenly Father... I must: understand my children; accept my children; discipline my children; express love to my children. Ways that we express love to our children is by: saying the words "I love you"; affirming them; investing in our marriage; giving them attention; having fun with them and passing on our faith.

Kid CEO
Using God's Design for the family we need to make God the highest priority in the home. The next highest priority in the home should be the husband/wife relationship. The children should function under the authority of the parents. For families who are functioning with Kid CEO that can take back control by establishing a "Parent -CEO" household: Communicate our new family agenda; connect with our mate daily & date regularly and limit the ECAs (extra curricular activities) and make sure nothing competes with God.

Essentials for Maximized Living
As we continue our series on the Holy Spirit we talk about living by the Spirit found in Galations 5:16-23. The more wholeheartedly we pursue God the more fully we experience the "Fruit of the Spirit." Galations 5:22 tells us that the fruits of the spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Living by the Spirit = Pursuing God wholeheartedly = Submitting to God's ways.

Draws Us to God; Helps us Understand God's Truths; Guarantees us that we belong to God; Equips us with divine enablements; Infuses us with the "fruit of the spirit"; and Empowers us to live whole, God honoring lives.

Influence
Using Paul's example in 1 Corinthians 9:19-23, we can influence to accept Christ. To do this, we need to find common ground with people; maximize our opportunities and maintain a sense of urgency. The bottom line is that we need to connect with people and invest in their lives.

Devotion
People seem to think that worship is a positive emotional experience or event. Based on what Paul says in Acts 17:23-27, Worship is intrinsic; Worship is about God not me; and Worship is active not passive. Worship is a lifestyle not just an experience.
