I am the resurrection and the life

in ezekiel 37 we see a vision of a vally of dry bones, representing the nation of israel, dead in evrey way by their own sins, by the ins of their children, by the sins of their fathers, by the sins of their kinds, by sins of their priest. The haunting question is posed by the Lord of the prophet Ezekiel: "Son of Man, can these bones live?". The prophet answers - "O Lord God, You alone know" the Lord hears the mustard seed of faith in his prophets response and says to him: Prophesy over these bones and say to them: "o dry bones, hear the wrod of the Lord" say to them ' o dry bones, hear the word of the Lord'. Six centuriers later, Jesus comes to the town of Bethany - fulfilling this prophecy for the nation in his consistent, intimate and personl fashion. saying to in essence to martha and mary as he said centuries earlier to the prophet Ezekiel: Can these bones live? John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

Sheperd and Lamb

The Lord is portrayed as both "Good Shepherd" and "Lamb of God" in the Old and New Testament. In Psalm 23 the Lord is portrayed as the all kind and all powerful Shepherd, but one page earlier in Psalm 22, as well as in Isa 53, the Lord prophetically described as an attacked, crushed, forsaken, bruised, surrounded lamb who is led to slaughter. As we examine these mysteries we will enter once again into the horrible beauty of "Good Friday".

As it is in Heaven

Our constant prayer is that God's name would be hallowed and that it would be on earth as it is in heaven. How can we learn from the lessons of Palm Sunday and Holy Week to honor the name of God and be the fragrance of heaven on earth.

Spade for the Heart

Jesus gave us a warning in the parable of the sower. There are 4 types of soil on which the seed lands. On the path, among the rocks, with thorn and thistles, and good soil. In the sermon Pastor John takes an in depth look at how these different soils apply to our life today.
