Why Should I Listen To Sermons?
God says that the proclamation of His word plays an important role in His plan for the world. Publicly preaching God's word brings people to Jesus Christ and focused preaching is the rudder that steers the church ship. Without it, a church lacks direction and purpose. Let me give you three reasons from the Bible why you should listen to sermons.
Playing the Big Game
The Bible uses sports as a metaphor for life and it tells us how we can be winners in the big game of life. I want you to realize that the issue today is not whether we are in the big race--everybody is in it whether they like it or not. But, the real issue is how we run the race. The Bible teaches us three techniques we must use, if we want to be winners by finishing the race of life.

Vital Ministries For A New Day @ New Horizons
In my opinion, the Worship Ministry, Youth Ministry, and Children's Ministry are vital ministries in the church. Not only do I think they are vital because they touch every adult, child, and youth in our congregation, but also because guests are usually more interested in them than the other ministries of the church. If we want to reach these unchurched people for Christ, we better have good worship programs, good youth programs, and good children's programs when they come to visit us. Now, let's consider what we might do with these ministries to make a New Day @ New Horizons.
Outreach and Evangelism For A New Day @ New Horizons
Since the invention of the internet, more and more churches are discovering the value of using the internet as a tool for outreach and evangelism. Today, the world wide web offers enormous potential for the church. Unquestionably, today's internet and electronic devices offer new opportunities for Outreach/Evangelism, as well as discipleship and pastoral ministry to believers. The churches that will benefit the most from the internet will be those churches that understand its potential and seize the opportunities in the next few years.
Leaders for a New Day @ New Horizons
I truly believe that New Horizons has great potential for the future, but it needs careful development to reach that potential. So, I have been writing a plan for our church leaders to consider. I call this plan, "A New Day @ New Horizons." I believe we can regenerate the life of our congregation with God's help.

Today, we will study Luke 12:32-48 to learn what Jesus taught about the responsibilities we have for the various things He has given us. These things are on loan from God. He expects us to use them wisely for good purposes. So, let's continue to discover five lessons in these verses that teach us about managing those resources that God has entrusted to us.
