Priesthood may not be the first thing that comes to mind when listing pillars of our faith, but it is foundational. Key to our relationship with God is the truth that we have complete and total access to Him through Jesus.
1 John 4 says love is from God. In fact, God is love. But we must also see that in John 13 we are given a new commandment: to love others just as we have been loved by God.
Mercy is truly an expression of God's love. It is the compassionate disposition of God that even when we linger in our sin, he acts on our behalf. It is the ever-present characteristic of God that won't allow his patience for his children to run out. And fortunately it is not just an emotion, but results in merciful action.
Scripture commands us to walk in joy. Philippians 4:4 says, "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice." We must know that joy dwells where God dwells, so a life lived in God’s presence will produce exuberant worship.
