Remember

In this passage, James speaks to us about facing trials and temptations. We know 2019 will hold some difficult moments for all of us- how will we handle those moments when they come our way? Through our time together this morning, may God prepare us for those moments. And as James does, may we see these moments as opportunities to grow!

State of My Soil

We are starting this year with a short message series focusing on "Starting 2019 Right." May each of us truly take spiritual steps in our walk with God! We are starting this series with a look, today, at Luke 8:1-15 and Jesus' words about soil. What is the state of your soil? If you are seeking to grow closer to Jesus Christ, this is a question you should ask yourself regularly. Is my heart and mind prepared to connect with God, His Word, His Spirit, and the truth of Jesus Christ? Let's make sure our "soil" is ready for the seeds of His Truth!

Light Has Come!

This evening's service is a celebration of light! Light is a theme continually used in the Bible to describe God's presence and love in our lives. Tonight, we celebrate the Light of Jesus Christ entering our world! May God's love and purpose shine brightly upon you. We also celebrate the Light of God's Love that each of us has the opportunity to shine! You can shine God's Light! Never doubt the value, potential, and worth that you have in God! You are someone special and we are thankful for you and your light!

Love's Great Plan

We finish the Advent Series with a look at LOVE and the loving actions of those around the Child Jesus in Matthew 2:13-23. In this passage, we see that not long into Jesus' life He is already in danger. But through the loving plan of God and the loving actions of those around Him, Jesus would be kept safe. Today- know that your actions of love matter. When you love, you are following through with God's Plan! So go forth this Christmas, see the mighty and wonderful things God will do with your actions of love!

Create Your Joy

The third Sunday of Advent is the week of Joy! Joy is a wonderful thing to discover at Christmas (or any time of the year). But we recognize that Joy isn't something we can just instantly create. In scripture, we see the joy that was felt and expressed by Elizabeth, John, and Mary in Luke 1. Through their expressions of Joy, may we discover where Joy comes from and how we can make it real in our hearts and lives!
