As you have heard in the message today, there is a list of verses taped to one of the back pages of my Bible. The list contains about two dozen verses that have continued to confront me and shape me as a Christ follower. I believe God has given each of us verses or passages of Scripture that have that same power and affect on us. I'm convinced that these verses uniquely resonate with us because they represent what God is uniquely doing in our lives.  They create our spiritual profile. Of course, if you are new to the faith or someone who does not regular read or study your Bible, the chances of you recognizing these verses are small. I'd like to challenge you to discover your own list. Here are simple instructions.

1. Make your list of "to die for" verses. These verses represent something special to you whenever you read or hear them. Choose no more than 18-24 verses.

2. Divide them into three categories.

• a. To Know verses. These simply contain facts that are important to know about God, you or His plan.
• b. To Be verses. These verses challenge us to have a transformation of character. They work on the inside.
• c. To Do verses. These verses give direction to our work and actions as a Christian.

3. Make a newspaper-like headline for each verse. This will force you to determine more precisely what God is telling you through this verse or passage.

4. Create a one sentence, personalized prayer based on each verse. I believe this prayer will reflect God's plan for your life.

5. Regularly review and pray through your verses.

6. Update your list. Watch for new verses to be added or current verses to be eliminated.
