The Best is Yet to Come

You’re familiar with Throwback Thursday. Well, Best of is like that, but even better! As we get ready to move into our new space, we’re looking back at PTSM’s best messages and funniest moments in our old space. Get ready to recapture a bit of the past as we celebrate where we’ve been and where we’re going!

Goodbye, Main Street

After almost eight years, it’s time to say goodbye to our first real home. This odd-looking, red-roofed, concrete structure has given us a place to gather on the weekends, welcoming all who walked through the doors to come just as we are. It has been a place to laugh and cry as we connect with friends in our small groups. It has been the place where we serve, giving the best of our time and energy for the sake of others. But far from a “holy huddle,” it has been the base from which we have been challenged and equipped to engage our world. We invite you to come say “Goodbye, Main Street” on this final Sunday before our relocation. Senior Pastors Jim Johnson and Paul Basden will share the stories of God’s faithfulness to all of us, his people of Preston Trail.

Faith

As kids, there’s a reason we had to be told to eat our veggies. Left to our own devices, we’d satisfy our sweet tooth at every meal. While our taste buds might be happy, our bodies would become weak and malnourished. Did you know our spiritual lives aren’t much different? In order to live a deeply satisfying life, we need to feast on the good stuff God has for us. Sadly, we too often choose instead to subsist on the spiritual equivalent of deep-fried junk. We find instant gratification at the expense of our strength, endurance and joy. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be that way--we just have to learn to love the good stuff.
