The first disciples of Jesus were asked, "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?" They did so because they were followers of Jesus and that is what Jesus did. This leads to the question, "Why did Jesus eat with tax collectors and sinners?" Answering this question provides followers of Jesus in everygeneration a framework for understanding Jesus and his mission as well as the mission of all his disciples. (Read)
