Nehemiah #10 - Keeping Worship Pure
0 Amens
Nehemiah records the effect of God's Word when Ezra reads the Law. The people of Jerusalem have rebuilt the walls but now they restore worship the way God had intended it. The reading of the Law prompts repentance and adherence to God's commands. Ezra's example of commitment, his interpretation of true worship, and exhortation caused a revival in Jerusalem.
The message for the church today is that worship must proceed from the revelation of God borne in the Scirpture. Worship is not experience only, but the way we offer our lives to God on a daily basis. True worship, pure worship is what we offer to God in faith every day. What the church does on Sunday mornings ought to be a culmination of lives given to God every day.
