The diet pill and exercise machine commercials always say the same thing: "Results not typical." Seeing the picture of the ideal is compelling for a while, but most of us remain skeptical. A lot of us view marriage the same way. We know it's supposed to be good; it's supposed to be a blessing. We hear testimonies from people who have phenomenal marriages, but ... results not typical. Marriage is a blessing, but our marriages are broken because we are broken. The gospel will redeem our marriages. The law shows the way, and gospel shows us the purpose and the gospel also brings about the transformation of our marriages.
