These verses are a call to the importance of prayer. Many times we turn to prayer after we try other things first. God desires that we seek Him first and foremost, and not last and least. We have an open line of communication with the Father, but many time we do not make the call. We try to do things in our own power and capabilities and fail miserably. God wants us to come to Him with all of our burdens, needs, requests, and cares. He is there waiting to hear from us.
Phillip asked Jesus to show them the Father, and Jesus lovingly explained that those who know Him, already know the Father.
The way to heaven has sometimes been described like a wagon wheel, where all ways lead to the same place. This cannot be further from the truth. Jesus speaks in John 14:6 about four absolute truths concerning Himself.
As life goes on, many times we get busy and neglect to pay proper attention to our wife, husband, or children. This is a good time to focus on remembering the love we have for those in our lives. It is also a good time to remember where the source of our love comes from, as well as what true love really is. Let's see what the real Author of love has to say about the subject of love.
Once we trust Christ as our Savior, our love for the Lord needs to be our foundation for our relationship with Him. We have to love the Lord first and foremost in our lives. Do we truly love Him and the things of God, or do we spend our lives focusing on the world?
