Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations Study Guide Extravagant Generosity May 20, 2012 2 Corinthians 9:6-11 1. God is the giver of every good gift, the source of life and love. People give because they serve a giving God 2. Vibrant, fruitful, growing congregations thrive because of the extraordinary sharing, willing sacrifice, and joyous giving of their members out of love for God and neighbor. 3. Those who practice Extravagant Generosity have a God-given vision and faith to plant seeds for trees whose shade they will never see. 4. Do I live in scarcity or abundance? 5. If there are strings, there is no generosity.
A word on Positivity
How can we convince anyone that the Lord is good if we don't look like we believe it ourselves? If we look like we are miserable we will attract others who want to be miserable. while if we have a positive outlook, who do we attract? Others who are positive.
Passionate Worship
Do you bring your all to worship? Does God see you worship as worship or just something you do on Sunday before the restaurants open? Or perhaps it is "your duty" to go to church. Find out what passionate worship is and what it is not.
Radical Does Not Equal Common
Do you really know what "Radical Hospitality" is. It is MUCH more than being friendly.
