Spiritual Warfare - Offensive Weapons
To "war a good warfare" it is evident that you must take offensive action: This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare. (I Timothy 1:18) Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and has professed a good profession before many witnesses. (I Timothy 6:12) You are to fight this battle intelligently with purpose: I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air. (I Corinthians 9:26) Knowing your offensive weapons can give you the ability to fight with purpose instead of uncertainty.

The enemies strategy and spiritual warfare
The enemy has a strategy. The Holy Spirit put in the Bible anything and everything we would ever need to know. It is our manual for warfare. The devil is a created being and he can't operate out of the parameters in which he was created so God can foretell and know everything it will attempt - always warning us and guiding us to protection. The devil accuses, condemns, and criticizes while God Forgives, Redeems and Sanctifies. Learn the strategies and overcome the weakness you have been convinces is true and the world you have believed brings you happiness. God is love.

Love is Kind
Mark Twain said "Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see." Continuing with our series on love and 1 Corinthians 13, we learn today how love is an action that is kind. Ken uses the story of Ruth to examine the qualities of kindness and their impact.

Love
The Way of Love 13:1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, [1] but have not love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; [2] 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. 13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Sacred Calling Part 5: 1 Corinthians 15.1-10
What is sacred? God’s people have a sacred calling. Our sacred calling is to share the gospel. The sharing of the gospel is the most radical ministry we can have. This week we continue to be challenged and encouraged from the Scriptures to make the gospel and the proclamation of it the most important thing in our life.

New Years Resolutions
New Years Resolutions are always tough to implement, aren’t they. In fact, I was reading an article in the NY Times on Dec. 31 of this year about this. Dr. Gonzales, who is a professor of psychology at the Univ. of Minnesota, stated, “In a season of change, in a year of change, most people who embark on a journey of self-renewal can expect anything but. Research shows that about 80 percent of people who make resolutions on Jan. 1 fall off the wagon by Valentine’s Day.†Even changes that are absolutely necessary, like changing your eating after a heart-attack. Dr. Edward D. Miller, the dean of the medical faculty at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, said more than 70 percent of coronary bypass patients revert to unhealthy habits within two years of their operation.
