a Beautiful Contrast
Comparison and Contrast are amazing learning tools for teaching discernment and judgement skills. The Apostle John in his letter of 1 John masterfully uses contrast to teach what knowing, obeying and loving Christ truly look like. Light vs. Dark, Actions vs. mere words, Knowing Christ vs. Knowing about Christ, the Spirit of Truth vs. a spirit of falsehood are a few of the contrasts used in this short letter. Ultimately our lives are meant to be a beautiful contrast with those who live for and love the world. A Beautiful Contrast: We are great sinners and we have a Great Savior, Jesus Christ.

children of God
childish or childlike? It has been said that "God has no Grandchildren only Children". Everyone who wants to be a child of God must come into His family the same way. There must be a spiritual rebirth in order to have new life. God wants you to be his child, he wants his children to live for him and to love like him.

not lovin' it
Jesus said, the greatest commandment was to Love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength. But he also said do not love the world or anything in the world, if anyone loves the world - the Love of the Father is not in him. Simply, you cannot love God and the world. Loving God means obeying him and we are called to live in this world and love the people of this world but not to love this worlds system. The tension and struggle for our affection and devotion ion is real. Are you ready to join other Christ followers in saying, "I've made my choice- i'm not lovin' it?"
