Fanning Your First Love
What motivates us to do the things we do withn the body of Christ? Obligation or guilt? Being faithful? While these are often honorable motives, there is a far more pure reason for obedience - that is having an enthralling love for Jesus Christ. Indeed, powerful affection for the Lord should be the driving force behind every Christian life, and it was Jesus Himself who showed us how love in the ultimate way. Although Christians often stray from their love for Christ, Jesus made it clear that our love for Him is most important and should be the priority in our lives. He wants more than just our minds and bodies; He wants our hearts to burn with passion for Him. The account of the church at Ephesis given by John in Revelation 2:1 shows that even when Christians do all the right things in the eyes of the Lord, but fail to love Him, they have sinned. It is Jesus alone Who can rekindle the love in men's hearts, so if you find that you've strayed from your love for Jesus you can find it again if you remember, repent, and redo the things that brought you that love in the past. In Pastor Ramey's message, we learn 7 ways to rekindle our love for Christ. Remember, we should not follow our hearts, but lead them!
