Gospel-Driven Godliness and Church Leadership, Part 10
Paul left Titus in Crete to set what remained unfinished in order (1:5). One pressing matter that was unfinished was the appointment of elders. Godly leadership is vital to a properly ordered church. In 1:10-16, Paul explains why Titus’ appointment of qualified leadership and opposition to unqualified leadership in the Cretan churches is so important, namely because there are many false teachers in Crete turning people away from the centrality of the gospel. So, in order to help Titus and the churches recognize and oppose ungodly leadership, Paul gives 12 characteristics of false teachers and 2 action steps to take in order to prevent them from harming the church.

How Much is Enough?
I want to do something really simple with this 10th commandment this morning. I want to just simply observe a few things from the text, illustrate the text using a couple of Biblical examples, and then lastly apply this 10th commandment to our lives by posing a question.
He Still Speaks (Intro to Series)
Many people view God as an angry ogre in the sky and the 10 Commandments as an endless list of rules when in reality God is a God of love and the 10 Commandments is His invitation to you to enter into a love relationship with Him. Rather than binding you, God wants to set you free! TEN WORDS FOR LOVING RELATIONSHIPS is a blueprint for developing wholeness through a loving relationship with God and others.
10 Commandments
The 10 Commandments are the heart of the book of Deuteronomy. They are the only laws God actually spoke to the people of Israel as a whole, out of the fire on the mountain. The Commandments are simply but beautiful, as they tell us much about who God is and the kind of life that we were created to live. But they also cause more than a bit of unease, as we begin to realize our inability to keep them and the weight of their demands. How should we then understand the Law?
