Abraham: Faith leaves the past behind.
Summary: Abraham was blessed because of his faith, not who he was. We are blessed today through faith, not who we are, where we come from, who our parents are, or anything else in the flesh. Abraham was a man of faith and of love. To get into the blessing that the Lord had for him, Abraham had to leave his family, his old way of doing things. For us to get into the place of blessing that God has for us there will need to be that separation also. Maybe not literally, but we need to separate from our old way of thinking and acting. Once we are born again, a transformation should take place. If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always have what you’ve always had. Be brave enough to launch out when He says go, it will be better than you ever dreamed.

Origins:Remembrance
In one way or another we all forget. We forget some of the most important, eternal, life-changing matters. And we do so every week. In Genesis 13, we see Abram, who doesn't want to forget.

Restart Your Life
Since God gave up His Son to die for us, he will also give us everything else. If we have found forgiveness, now He now wants us to follow His plan for our lives. We can restart our lives and have God direct our future. Just like patriarch Abraham whom God commanded to step out in faith, God asks us to trust Him completely, step out of the familiar, and enter the vast unknown believing that He will unveil His plan. We can rely on His promises. He will take us through every obstacle in life including the 'detours' that come along.

Origins: Intervention
An intervention is a process where friends and family confront somebody, most often dealing with drugs and alcohol. The goal is to immediately get the person into rehab or counseling so he can become the person he is supposed to be. Intervention works because it is a confrontation of grace, stemming from love and affection. "Divine intervention" is often expected to be dramatic, near-miraculous, flashy, huge and immediately life-altering. In Genesis 12, we see a more subtle divine intervention, one that we can study to learn more about Abram, more about God and, hopefully, a little bit about ourselves.

Trust Me
God called Noah, Abram and Mary to step beyond themselves to do something that would seem to be absurd. But in absurdity and in the face of impending opposition, God calls them and us to simply trust and obey.
