Sermons about Abundant Life
Far too many believers have made professions of faith in Jesus Christ and yet their Christian experience is one of frustration and misery. Like the children of Israel of old, they end up wandering in the wilderness of sin and eventually die in the desert of defeat. God has intended much more for us. Jesus told His disciples that He came that they might life and described it with the word "abundantly". The writer of Hebrews provides us with some insight regarding this quality of Christian living, and uses the word "rest" as its defining characteristic. Listen and discover how you might experience this abundant life of rest.
The Conquest of Canaan is a tremendous parallel to the abundant life Jesus referred to in John 10:10. While one speaks of the acquisition of a land promised by God, the other speaks of a life Jesus intends for all who come to Him. Far too many believers are living below God's standard of living. They spend their lives in a wilderness and end up buried in graves of grief; pointless and fruitless because they failed to possess their God given possessions. This need not be! By faith we need to lay claim to our spiritual possessions and live and act accordingly.
