The Holy Spirit Leads
There are times when God opens doors and times when He closes them. He may lead in ways that make perfect sense to us, and there may also be times when the path that God illuminates seems to contradict everything that we think is right or best. Sometimes, God's way may even seem crazy to us. What is our response to occasions when God's plan leads us to "uncomfortable places?"

It Began With a Dream: Macedonia
The jailer….rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. He…asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus , and you will be saved—you and your household.” Acts 16.30-31 Today we are having a combined worship service with mixed styles, lots of people and the desire to use every possible seat in our sanctuary. It will be pretty informal and celebratory. Our pastor will continue our walk through the Book of Acts. Our service of worship will end with some immersion baptisms with testimonies.

The resurrection of Jesus creates and then makes available the reality in which we are formed as new creatures in Christ by the Holy Spirit.

The Vital and Victorious Connection: The First Church Council
One of the worst ways to do life is to do it alone. That applies to absolutely everybody, but it especially applies to Christians and churches. The truth is, Lone Rangers never win alone. Today in the Word, as we continue our study of Acts, we come to Luke’s account of the first church council in Jerusalem. As meetings go, this one wasn’t boring - great issues were at stake. In fact, the integrity of the gospel was at stake. And great lessons are to be learned by the early church. As we progress through the Book of Acts and think about the risen Lord, the life-giving Spirit, and the original emerging church, keep asking yourself, “Who are we now and what should we be like?”
