Adoption: A Good Reason To Cry "Abba Father"
Romans 8:15 As children of God, we should no longer live on this earth to seek our own agenda, but to seek the agenda of the Lord. He has purchased this right with His sacrificial blood. What is more significant to us, however, is that through this purchase the Lord has in essence 'adopted' those who He calls His own - His children. And, this adoption is not as much a physical adoption as it is a spiritual one. Adoption by God is also something very personal in that He makes us members of His family. It is perhaps the highest blessing bestowed by God upon His children because through it He offers a deeper relationship with Him. It is by His grace that we are not simply made children of God, but we become children desired by Him. As great as God's blessing of forgiveness is, this is undoubtedly greater because it is founded on His infinite love. With a proper understanding of what it means to be spiritually adopted, we can more effectively live out our priviledge as children of Christ. And we should do so because we are not merely His children, but inheritors of His kingdom - considered by Him sons and daughters of the Lord!
