Sermons About Adoption
That Every Mouth May Be Silent (Romans 3:9-20)
Paul's argument in this passage is that of a prosecutor. He demonstrates beyond any doubt that we are totally depraved, that our sin leaves us with no defense before a holy and righteous judge. By ourselves we cannot earn God's approval, and we deserve only wrath and judgment. But praise God for his provision of a Savior, Jesus Christ, who is our advocate and our righteousness. Though everyone stands guilty before God, everyone who calls on the name of Jesus will be saved, accepted by God, and adopted into God's family as his child.

Adoption (Revised)
This is another version of my sermon on our adoption. Unlike the other version, this has the full sermon! Our adoption into God's family is the highest blessing of the Gospel. I outline the benefits and responsibilities of this gracious status.

Children of God
The Apostle Paul ends chapter 3 of Galatians with an astonishing conclusion. He says that we are Children of God by faith. The implications of this statement in the New Testament are astounding. No longer does Paul quibble over whether we are associated w/Abraham, he explains that we are all Children of God by faith.

The Passions of Christian Prayer
Our prayers reveal our passions, desires. In the first half of "The Lord's Prayer", Jesus shows us the passions of His heart. Those desires should transform us, and our prayers. Truly Christian prayer reflects the desires of God's heart.

Ephesians 2:11-22
What if we become this community of believers offers grace because it was offered to us and lived in peace, true peace with each other? What would that look like? If we truly embodied this, I believe that people would find us strangely attractive!
