Overflowing Joy
Having accepted the call of God on her life in bearing God's son Jesus, Mary hurries to her cousin Elizabeth's house--a difficult 80-mile journey, perhaps a journey made alone. In her determination, she wrestles with the idea of society's opinion of her as an unwed mother, even though she knows the truth of the conception. Upon her arrival at Elizabeth's house, joy overflows between these two women and Mary finds refuge there for three months. Can we experience this overflowing joy in our lives today? After a time of deep struggling and questioning, God often brings an exuberant, transforming joy to us that boils over to those we encounter.

Joy In Giving
The subject of giving is a dividing subject. It divides those who give sparingly from those who give abundantly. It divides those who give reluctantly from those who give cheerfully. Most important, it divides those who give out of legalism rather than a confession of the gospel.

Peace In Giving
Jesus had much to say about wealth and possessions. One thing was certain, man could not serve both God and money. His whole heart had to be devoted to Christ and his kingdom. Absolute allegiance to Jesus includes our wealth and possessions. The thought of this could be scary for many, but Jesus promises that God will meet all of our needs.

Wise (Man) Living
The Magi were foreigners who practiced astrology, sorcery, divination, etc. And yet look at the effort they put into finding the Messiah! If only we would also put such energy and enthusiasm in our search to know Christ!

Hope In Giving
The Bible has a lot to say about Christians and their possessions. If our entire lives are meant to be lived for the glory of God, then obviously God would have something to say about every area of our life, especially those areas that occupy so much of our energy. So what should a Christians view toward his possessions? Should he hope in his possessions or should his possessions be used to give someone else hope? This is part one of a four part series preached during Advent in December of 2006.

Advent 2, Luke 1, Magnificat
In Jesus, God demonstrates His holiness, His righteousness, yes, that’s what the cross is about… but most of all, this whole thing happened all those years ago so that God could show you His mercy. So that even if He judges all the wrong in the world, no one who doesn’t want to face that judgment need do so. God has kept His word. God has given us a Savior.

No beginning or end
Our God has no beginning and no end. So, we too complete one liturgical year and begin immediately a new one. While the scripture focuses on the end times, it also points to the coming of our Saviour which we will celebrate at Christmas.
